Melatonin

We recently learned about the importance of melatonin and your health in neuro. So I came home and told Chris about it...this is what he did.... (you can only produce melatonin while you are sleeping, and it HAS to be dark. Melatonin has been shown to reduce cancers, etc and does what Vit C and E do with 250 mg with .5mg).

Hasbeens

So at the shower the other day mom, Sarah Carter, Katherine Fontenot, and I were talking about how funny it would be for me to take a picture with my big belly in our soccer team shirt. We are called the Hasbeens...so it is a very appropriate name for me at the current time! : ) Hope ya'll get a kick out of me being silly. We thought about adding a pic of Chris in his shirt, but no matter how hard we try...he just doesn't quit fit with the name of the team.

35 Weeks and "the crib"

So as some of you know WAY too well, I have been obsessing about the crib/crib mattress as of 2:00am Thursday, 4/19/07. Long story short..it is awesome, the mattress fits perfect with the mattress pad, sheets, bumber etc. YAY! We don't have a crib ruffle yet, but it at least it is all together and ready for a baby. We also found some dollar monkey decorations at Target. They go with our jungle theme, and we both are super excited about them (you can see a couple of them in the pictures). Here are pics of me and baby at 35 weeks. Please don't judge...I have a Neuro test on Monday and have been studying like a crazy person. Also we have taken up-to-date belly pics of Chris...enjoy.

34 weeks already!!! WOW!!

Well, the baby and belly are growing like crazy and time is just flyin'!! As soon as we get a chance, we will post some current belly pics. I also will post the shower pics when I get them (of course, I did not take a camera and am lucky to have friends that take pictures!).

April

Well April is here already, and we CANNOT believe it. We are into the new casa, and Chris is working like mad to get ready for the baby. He put in a new floor in the master bedroom and tore out the carpet in the two upstairs bathrooms to put in tile. We only have about 6 more weeks until our due date! It is fast approaching! I am doing well...trying to not overdo while finishing up school and getting ready for the baby. I will update with belly pics soon. I keep forgeting! Sarah Carter's wedding was last weekend, and we got to see mom, Dana, Rob, and grandma and grandpa! Lots of fun. Here are a couple of pics. Of course, I am kicking myself of not getting a pic of Chris and I all dressed up. We are the world's worst about not taking pictures...darn it. Hopefully we will get better about that with the kid and all. Love and miss everyone!!

Painting

Well,

Chris has been working like a crazy person to get the baby's room and the master bedroom painted before we move into the new house on Sat. (March 10th). We were there for a little bit this weekend (while Chris was painting), and we LOVE it. There is still some work to be done..superficial work like painting. I don't think they painted for the seven years they lived there except for two rooms that have colors that don't match our taste. They also had twin girls...so you can imagine what the walls look like. : ) Anyway, while we were at the house we met a couple of neighbors, watched some neighborhood kids play pickup baseball at the park, and basically just got really excited about living there. Although, we have not even moved in yet, and I realized I will have to live in the country eventually. I cannot stand dogs barking incessantly (which it is SOOO much better at our new house than at the apartment), and we have a couple neighbor dogs that like the sound of their own voice apparently. Anyway, here is a picture of Chris painting the baby's room (yes, I was wearing a mask while I was in there). You cannot really see the true color that he is painting (a shade of green), but you get the idea.

These pics (like all the others) were taken on my camera phone so the quality is not so great... Anyway this is us before one of Chris' co-worker's wedding. The picture of the two of us together is not good, but it's all we've got. AND I could hardly get Chris to slow down enough to take his pic; so it is fuzzy.

Baby Registry to date

FYI (per multiple requests):
Laci and I have registered for baby stuff at Target and are planning on registering at Ikea and The Children's Place as well. Just so that everyone knows...the big stuff we registered for e.g. carseat, playpen, stroller,etc we put a lot of thought/research into and specifically picked out. As far as small stuff, e.g. booties, onesies, any type of clothing basically, we just picked out based on the type and number we need. So if you see something you love like a onesie we did not pick out in pink or blue, then please go ahead and purchase it for us just be sure to send a reciept with it in case the baby pops out a different gender. Also we did not pick out any "play clothes" (which consumer report said we need six outfits). So those are up for grabs as well. Obviously no one has to buy us anything, but if you are wanting to, I hope this helps!

26 weeks (1 more week until 7 months)

Well,

The belly officially POPPED!! I woke up on Sunday morning two weekends ago and my tummy was all of a sudden this big!! Anyway, I am feeling great. School is going well. I have tons of tests coming up the next couple of weeks, but after that is Spring Break...yay! We are closing on our house this upcoming Wed. I found out that I cannot travel anymore beyond 2 hours...not super excited about that. I was wanting to go home for Spring Break, but I guess since it is in the baby and my best interest; I can except that. Hope everyone enjoys the pictures.

Special Post for my dad...

O.K. long story, but here I am in the infamous I LOVE LAMP shirt. Here is a belly pic and a straight on (goofy) pic. I do have an excuse for looking so aweful and dingy in the pictures (especially the straight on picture). I had been studying the biochemistry of the endocrine system for about 8 hours right before Chris got home and took the picture (thank goodness that test is over and now...6 more to go..).

Sorry these pictures are from my camera phone. We are going to buy a nice camera (for Christmas 2006) after we get into the new house and get that all settled. : ) This is the maternity outfit that my mom, dad, and Dana got me for Christmas. My dad picked out the shirt for me. I had to get dressed "professionally" to do a physical exam so afterward I had Chris snap a quick shot since I am TERRIBLE about not taking pictures. I have to admit. I do have a nice camera that my parents got me for Christmas a while back, but it was out of film and batteries. : ( Anyway...those that know my mom well will recognize the look on my face as coming directly from her. : ) Too funny.
